【今回のポイント】
１． “as…as”
「As far as I know」＝「知る限りでは」
“As far as I know, he’s coming to class today.”

「As far as I can remember」
“As far as I remember, he said he was coming to class today last week.”

「As far as I’m concerned」「私の考えとしては」「私に関する限りでは」
“As far as I’m concerned, this project is finished.”
こっちの方が少し強め

２．“by far”
“He is by far the best student in class.”

“far and away”
“Far and away, he’s the best student in class.”

一番と二番に大きな差がある場合は
「by far」や「far and away」

３．“far from” 「かけ離れている」という意味
She’s always early for class. Far from being
early for class, she’s usually late.

「Far from it」と言ってもいい

4. “go far” 「成功する」という意味
“She’s an excellent student. She’s going to go far in the future.”

「go too far」＝「度を越す」という意味
“When he drinks, he always goes too far and says
too much.”

5. “so far” 「ここまでは」「今までのところ」という意味
“she’s been living in Japan so far.”
“So far, she’s been living in Japan for 15 years.”
“So far, I’ve had three classes today but I have more coming.”

“So far so good”「まあまあいい感じ」
“How’s everything with you?”
“So far so good”
